PÖÖRIRANDO is an 24h adventurous bike race to enjoy the whitest night of the year. You can take it as a leisurely hike or try to rock as many kilometers as possible. Checkpoints are located in the wilderness and on road, which allows you to choose the right bike, course and riding style for you. Each rider will receive a manifest with checkpoints to collect points, which means that the winner might not be the one with the most km-s, but the best planner. You can participate alone or with a group (all competing in one race-that isn't a race).

BORDERLAND

This year's Pöörirando area covers borderland of Estonia and Latvia around Valga/Valka. The base of the competition is located at Sette Talu, 10 km from the Valga railway station.

SYSTEM

There are 50 checkpoints across 7 categories, and you have 24 hours to collect as many as you can. Checkpoints have different values, and if you gather enough CPs from a single category, you'll earn bonus points. Strategy is key!

The checkpoints will be revealed two weeks before the ride.

DISTANCE

Every rider can decide for themselves how much they want to ride—take it easy, collect some points, and rest at the base during the ride, or push through the night. Distances typically range from 100 to 500 km, but if it’s your first time, it’ll probably be the longest ride of your life!

WHICH BIKE?

The checkpoints are spread across different terrains, and you’ll create your own route, so choose the bike you’re most comfortable with. You’ll see all kinds of bikes at the start line—road, gravel, MTB, track bikes, and even a singlespeed fatbike has made an appearance!

SELF-SUPPORTED

The competition is completely self-sufficient, meaning team support and outside assistance are not allowed. Riders must carry all necessary equipment themselves. However, you can use services available to everyone, such as shops and eateries. You can also stop by the base during the ride to rest or resupply.

Longer information letter two weeks before the ride.
